Serving Jesus Together
Serving
We are servants of the Lord, obeying His commands, to go, to stay, to love, to heal, to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
Mark 10:45
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Joshua 24:14-16
14 “Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
16 Then the people answered, “Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other gods!
Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Jesus
He is the center of all we are and all we do. It is for Him and in His name we serve.
Matthew 1:21
She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Revelation 22:16
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
Together
We are not alone. We have been filled by the Holy Spirit, along with our brothers and sisters in the Lord. We do not act alone. We serve, side by side, in the strength of the Lord.
Acts 2:46
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
Exodus 19:8
The people all responded together, “We will do everything the Lord has said.” So Moses brought their answer back to the Lord.
Serving Jesus Together is not a static statement. It is vibrant and moving. It reflects our passion and giftedness. We do everything in the name of Jesus, and we are mindful of our identity as a body, working together.
